Russia’s Rosatom may help shut down nuke reactors in Japan

MOSCOW, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom’s unit Techsnabexport is considering taking part in projects to put several Japanese nuclear reactors out of operation, Mikhail Baryshnikov, a department director at Techsnabexport, said at a briefing Wednesday.

“We are discussing a shutdown of reactors. Japan is collecting experience of such works from all over the world,” he said.

Works at these reactors will unlikely start before 2025, he also said.
